#yarnlovechallenge wrap up

The #yarnlovechallenge was a photo-a-day project hosted by Mary Heather Browne and Christina B of Ravelry.

I loved seeing everyone’s choices for the prompts! I can’t keep up with these type of “challenges” every month, but it’s nice to have prompts every once in awhile to help me post more regularly.

FO Friday – Through the Loops MKAL

In June, Kirsten Kapur, the designer behind Through the Loops, hosted a shawl mystery knit-along. As soon as I saw that the design called for 500yd and that she used a gradient, I was in! I happened to have a Corrie Sock striping set second that needed a sample knit.

I loved knitting this shawl! The lace patterns flow into each other nicely from clue to clue, but they’re not so complicated that you can’t see where you go off track (which only happened a couple of times.) I initially wished I had only used half my red mini skein for the first clue, but I’ve grown to like the purple bind-off edge.
